How Explorative Arts Box came to be
When people hear ‘Art’, the first thing they usually think is painting or drawing – something with visual art. I’ve seen box after box full of visual art supplies or teaching people this or that technique. And, sure there are many boxes around giving ‘writers tips’ and loads of stationary and pretty pens. But, not a single box gives people a peek into the countless other art forms that exist.
How about DRAMA? MUSIC? How about movement and dance?
What if there was a box out there that could give ALL of the arts? Wouldn’t that be great?
I came to this from a background in ALL of the arts. I’ve been a professional violinist from the age of 6, an on-screen and voice actor from age 7, a dancer and later dance teacher, and then a published writer and working visual artist. And I wouldn’t give up a single one of those arts for anything! So why should YOU?
I formed this box with the design help of my partner, Ben, so that I could bring the arts – ALL THE ARTS – to you. Straight to your front door.
I took the hard way with hours a day of practising the violin, coming home from dance rehearsals with bleeding feet, and weeks of memorizing scripts for auditions and filming shoots. But you don’t have to do that to become a well-rounded artist. I’ve curated boxes using my decades of professional and personal experience with the arts to give you the best of what I’ve come to know.
And the best part is, it’s fun and easy! And anyone can gain from it. New and established artists and those who have yet to begin…yes, that includes you, the one in the back saying ‘Not me. I’m not an artist. I’m tone-deaf. I have two left feet. I’m no Shakespeare. I have stage fright.’
The Explorative Arts box is designed to be accessible, useful, and most importantly FUN for everyone! Each month, you’ll get the chance to explore (yes, explore!) ALL of the arts while being led on a unique journey of personal discovery, expression, and healing. The most important thing I’ve discovered over my years practicing the arts is how much you LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF through them. And that is what the Explorative Arts Box is all about. Using the arts to EXPLORE yourself – your innermost self, your true self, the best parts of you, the hidden depths you didn’t even know you had.
Sounds tough, huh? Well, it isn’t! Just follow the numbered steps that hold your hand through each Explorative Arts Experience to explore your way to well-being! All while becoming the well-rounded artist we all have within us.
Connect with your inner artist and discover well-being.
